IKHWEZI Management and Training Institute (IKHWEZI), was created out of a need for transformation in the working environments and our primary objective is to provide long-term sustainable leadership and development solutions for individual and organisational growth and transformation, skills development and employee advancement.

IKHWEZI focuses on leadership and managerial training in the business environment offering skills programmes, short courses and full learnerships accredited with the respective SETA’s and/or the SABPP (see Products and Services). IKHWEZI will develop and provide solutions driven qualifications in Leadership and Management Development Programmes, including the crucial soft skills required to ensure successful leaders. This will be driven by our constantly evolving business world, and the requirements for more management in terms of Employment Equity and the need for black directors, senior managers and small business owners, in accordance with the Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment’s Codes of good practice.

The two partners have other companies providing consulting across Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business Planning and Consulting, Employment Equity Management, Skills Development Facilitation and Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment Consultation. This has resulted in IKHWEZI being a training provider, who has real hands-on experience that can train and develop from a practical knowledge component as well as a theoretical one.

Substantial market research has established that Leadership Development training is one of the country’s fastest growing service industries. IKHWEZI identified a significant complexity within the local market for Management and Development training. IKHWEZI identified a (often painful) detachment between the training providers and their clients. Many businesses and training solutions providers in the industry “train for the sake of training” and do not fully understand the intricacies of the soft skills required to make the training relevant in the workplace.

IKHWEZI differentiates itself from its competitors (generally larger national companies) through competitive pricing and the development of unique workshops that will focus on real “on-the-job” experiences as training aids.  A vast amount of the learners has come from the workforces of the existing client base of the partners. Additionally, as per the 2013 DTI Codes of good practice, IKHWEZI provides a service to this client base by sourcing and training unemployed people to meet the B-BBEE requirements under the Skills Pillar. By specialising in the development of leaders and organisational culture, IKHWEZI hopes to partner with companies to ensure the success of their training and development divisions.
